How to Prepare for a QHHT Session: Emotionally, Energetically, and Practically
If you’ve booked a QHHT session — or you’re considering one — you may be wondering how to prepare.
That’s a wise question.
A QHHT session is not something you need to “perform well” in. It is not a test. You do not need to force an experience, try to be spiritual, or arrive in some perfectly regulated state.
But preparation does matter.
The right preparation can help you feel more settled, more open, and more able to receive what is there for you. It can help you enter the experience with clarity, steadiness, and trust.
In my work, I think about preparation in three ways: emotionally, energetically, and practically.
Emotional Preparation: You Do Not Need to Be Perfectly “Ready”
One of the most important things to know before a QHHT session is that you do not need to have everything figured out.
You do not need to be calm all the time.
You do not need to have the perfect questions.
You do not need to know exactly what is going to happen.
What does help is coming in with honesty.
That may look like:
acknowledging that you feel nervous
noticing that part of you is deeply curious
recognizing that you are in a season of change, questioning, healing, or expansion
letting yourself arrive as you are, instead of trying to manage the experience in advance
QHHT tends to work best when you come willing rather than controlling.
Open rather than forceful.
Curious rather than demanding.
You are not there to make something happen.
You are there to participate in what wants to unfold.
Preparing Your Questions
Part of preparing emotionally is getting clear on what you would genuinely like support, insight, or clarity around.
Before your session, spend some time reflecting on the questions that matter most to you.
These might include:
patterns you keep repeating
relationships that feel confusing or painful
health concerns you want insight on
life direction questions
emotional blocks
spiritual experiences or gifts you want to understand more deeply
a persistent feeling that something in your life is ready to change
Your questions do not need to sound profound. They just need to be real.
Simple, honest questions are often the most powerful.
For example:
Why do I keep ending up in the same kind of relationship?
What am I being asked to learn in this season of my life?
Why have I struggled to trust myself?
What is the root of this fear, pattern, or symptom?
How can I move forward with more clarity?
I require you to write your questions down ahead of time, and we review them together in the session.
Energetic Preparation: Creating Space to Receive
You do not need a complex ritual before your QHHT session.
But it can be supportive to begin slowing down the noise a little.
In the day or two before your session, consider reducing anything that leaves you feeling overstimulated, scattered, or disconnected from yourself. That does not mean you need to disappear from your life. It simply means making a little more room for yourself.
Energetic preparation might look like:
spending some quiet time alone
journaling
taking a walk
having a bath or shower with intention
getting outside and breathing fresh air
stepping back from unnecessary conflict or emotional intensity
limiting doom-scrolling or constant digital input
taking a few moments to sit with your questions and your intentions
You may also want to tune in to what you are hoping to bring into the session.
Not in a grasping way.
Not in a way that pressures the experience.
But in a sincere way.
You might simply ask yourself:
What feels ready to be seen?
What am I genuinely available to understand more deeply?
Where am I asking for truth?
That kind of inner orientation can be very supportive.
Nervous System Preparation: Settled Is Helpful, Forced Is Not
Many women wonder if they need to be completely relaxed for QHHT to work.
You do not.
But it is helpful to arrive as grounded as possible.
If your nervous system tends to run fast, preparation can include very simple regulation practices in the day leading up to your session and the morning of.
This might include:
eating regular meals
getting enough sleep the night before
going for a walk
deep, steady breathing
listening to calming music
giving yourself extra time so you are not rushing
avoiding stacking your day with too many demands beforehand
You do not need to chase some ideal state.
You are simply helping your system feel supported enough to soften.
That is very different from trying to control the experience.
Practical Preparation: What to Eat, Wear, and Bring
Practical preparation matters more than people sometimes realize.
Because QHHT sessions are long, it is important to care for your body well.
What to eat
I recommend eating in a way that helps you feel nourished and stable.
Have a good meal before your session. Aim for something grounding and satisfying rather than something very light that leaves you hungry an hour later.
Try not to arrive underfed, overly caffeinated, or depleted.
You know your body best, but in general:
eat enough protein and substance to feel steady
hydrate well
avoid anything that makes you feel jittery, foggy, or uncomfortable
do not skip meals because you are nervous
A well-supported body makes it easier to relax into the process.
What to wear
Wear comfortable clothing.
Choose something soft, non-restrictive, and easy to relax in. This is not the day for anything tight, fussy, or distracting.
Think comfort over presentation.
What to bring
Bring whatever helps you feel at ease and practically supported.
That might include:
your written list of questions
water
a light snack if needed
a sweater or layers
anything else that helps you feel comfortable
The goal is simple: help your body and mind know they are being cared for.
What Not to Do Before Your Session
Just as important as what supports the session is what can make it harder.
Before your session, try not to:
over-research other people’s experiences and compare yourself
pressure yourself to have a dramatic past life experience
stay up too late
arrive rushed or frazzled
treat the session like something you need to “get right”
force yourself into a spiritual state
QHHT does not require performance.
In fact, performance usually gets in the way.
The most supportive thing you can bring is willingness.
A Final Word: Come Open, Not Forceful
This may be the most important preparation of all.
Come open.
Come honest.
Come willing to listen.
But try not to grip the experience too tightly.
Sometimes people arrive hoping for one very specific kind of session, and what unfolds is different than expected — but exactly right for where they are.
QHHT is not always linear.
Consciousness does not always speak in the way the mind expects.
Sometimes what comes through is symbolic.
Sometimes it is emotional.
Sometimes it is direct and clear.
Sometimes the most important part of the session is not what you anticipated at all.
Your job is not to force.
Your job is to participate.
To show up.
To listen.
To be with what comes.
That is more than enough.
Thinking About Booking a Session?
If you’re feeling drawn to QHHT, there may be a reason.
Often, women book a session when they are at a threshold.
Something in them is asking for deeper truth, clearer direction, healing, or contact with a wiser part of themselves.
If that is where you are, you’re welcome to book a consultation and we can explore whether this work is the right fit for you.
